Facebook’s better overall, but with all the new applications it may very well be full of spam and stupid, modified profile pages in a month. Much easier for stalking someone you know – not so easy for predators to target random teens.
So which is it? Online or real world?
An Gadai My purpose in using social networking sites has always been to organize groups of people in a real world practical sense. The reason I am on facebook at all is because a non-profit I am working on is using it to organize it’s members.
I don’t quite get what Facebook offers that Myspace (or probably more accurately, Friendster) doesn’t offer. Yeah, people have shitty-ass Myspace designs, but in reality, you can get everything you need via your own homepage, so it’s not that big a deal.
People keep saying that Facebook is supposed to be the “classy” one, but I have a bunch of notifications about being bitten by zombies and having teddy bears thrown at me that begs to differ.
If one site or the other has a significantly larger number of your friends on it, I’d go with that. All things even, I’d go with Myspace, which has the added benefit of being a bastard music-RSS child.

The interlinking between friends on Facebook makes it much easier to keep track of what people are doing, without having to go and scour each page individually. (And you know you can disable the zombie notification nonsense?)

cough cough
Facebook is as good as your friends are.
Heh. Sorry.
Troy McClure When inviting someone to an event on Facebook you check mark everyone you want to invite and click ‘invite’. On MySpace you have to invite everyone individually, it’s a huge pain in the ass and a nice way to get reacquainted with your carpal tunnel. That alone makes Facebook much better.
