just one thing to be wary of is battery life. Some GPS apps can munch phone battery. My other half had a running app and you could literally see the battery indicator running down. She went on a 17 mile walk with her company and the battery didn’t last that long.
5 years ago so probabaly things are a little better but thought I’d mention & suggest you take a battery booster with you.
Yes, definitely. I often use my phone to track and/or navigate bike rides, and on anything longer than a half-day ride I take an external battery. I have one the size of the phone which gives three or four full charges, so I can leave it plugged in and charging the phone and not worry about the battery running flat.
