Finally got this book from the library, and yep, the kids love it. (I’m Dirty, as well).
Unless you’re a tight-ass, who wouldn’t? I agree with those who recognize the truism that on a very good day, 10% of everyone are idiots. Sure the truck has a bad attitude, but that’s what makes the story great.

Some people get offended too easily and need to be less sensitive. My suggestion is you should be less sensitive about people like that and not let them offend you so easily.

Nobody has commented that it’s not the trash truck’s responsibility to separate the refuse, that should be done by the tossers before the waste hits the curb. Cut the truck some slack.
Wow, they list “Xenarthra” as an animal? Xenarthrans compose an entire superorder of mammals!
That would be like a book having a picture of a tiger (or a shrew, or a killer whale, or a tapir or a walrus…) and calling is a Laurasiathere. It’s technically correct, but most of the time a kid’s animal book prefers something more specific. I guess they really were hard up for X-named animals.
