sorry for el doubleposto-
Nah – they cross paths with Groo often enough, but they’re not obsessed with taking him down the way a proper arch-nemesis would.

Batman : Catwoman (not Joker!! The Bat can handle him easily. Not so Catwoman. In the original storyline, he had to marry her.)Superman:Bizarro
**
Catwoman is a thief. The Joker is a psychotic, sociopathic mass murderer. Catwoman loves Batman and doesn’t want to hurt him. The Joker loves Batman and wants to torture him to death. The Joker killed Robin and crippled Batgirl. If Batman can handle him easily, I’ve never seen him do it.
Bizarro is most definitely not Superman’s nemesis. Though they have fought, their friends most of the time. Superman aided Bizarro #1 in the creation of Bizarro World. It was Superman who made Bizarro World a cube. In addition, Bizarro has never been a serious threat to Supes. Bizarro may be Supes equal in the super power department, but he has no skill in using those powers. Lex Luthor OTOH has brains, resources and has devoted his life to killing Superman.
What about Darksied (I’m pretty sure I misspelled that, I don’t really read Superman) as Superman’s nemesis? I mean, from what I understand, this guy can whipe the floor with Superman and is bent on taking him out and destroying Earth. For a nemesis, I generally feel that taking out the hero needs to be primary target number one, so this may fall short seeing as Earth seems to be his big prize, but Luthor is the same way. He’s just trying to control it from a more political/financial aspect. D is also the only one I’ve known Superman to seriously want (and I believe even attempt) to kill. Unsuccessfully, yes, but still, to push the big guy that far…
Sadly I don’t think my favorite superhero Monkey has an arch-nemesis. In each episode he’s fighting somebody else. And three of those turned out to be not such a bad guy after all. 1) Ape villain returns to nature 2) Wrestler villain decides Earth is worth sparing and moves on 3) Lava guy just wants a little peace and quiet.

Major Glory vs. Comrade Red
Krunk vs. She-Thing (but they got it on)
I don’t think ValHallen has a nemesis unless it’s crowds of screaming women.
As for the Hulk, I’d go back to my original post in a sense and say his nemesis is Bruce Banner. Of all people the Hulk hates the most, Banner tops the list, and vice versa. The Leader would be my second pick, but he just blew up, so I guess he no longer counts.
Agreement with Banner as number one arch enemy, but I’d list Gen. Thunderbolt Ross as a close second. The guy’s been hunting the Hulk from issue 1.
DC’s Captain Marvel vs. Black Adam. (Actually on review of the thread, I see someone mentioned Dr. Sivania, and he’s probably a better choice)
The Elementals vs. Saker
The Justice League vs. The Injustice League
The Avengers (Marvel Comics): Kang the Conqueror
ESPECIALLY after the latest story arc. DAAAAAMN
Daredevil vs. The Kingpen
Orion vs. Darkseid
Darkseid vs. Highfather
Mike Tyson vs. Common Sense
Bill Gates vs. The Guv’ment
I dunno, a powerful case could be made for Bullseye as the arch-nemesis of Daredevil. I suppose it depends upon whether you’re talking about “direct confrontation” or “generally making life hell”.

Nah, Omega Supreme::Predaking, if you asks me. Besides, the Dinobots already had dibs on Devastator.
Ultra Magnus :: Galvatron
No, silly, Rodimus Prime::Galvatron. Ultra Magnus should be paired with Cyclonus, as they’re both seconds-in-command.
Jinrai :: Overlord
Fire Convoy :: Gigatron
Star Saber :: Deathsaurus
If you’re going to include the Japanese cartoons, don’t forget Multiforce::Dinoking and Road Caesar::Liokaiser. But that still leaves Victory Leo without a dance partner…

Secret of Omega Supreme, dude. Omega Supreme had a serious mad-on for the Constructicons, and they hated him for chasing them all around the galaxy.

The best portrayals of both Ultra Magnus and Galvatron were in the commercial for the two toys. You know the one:
ULTRA MAGNUS: We meet at last, Galvatron.
GALVATRON: And it will be the last time we meet!
NARRATOR: Ultra Magnus is Galvatron’s sworn enemy!
That’s what I’m talking about

For a good part of Transformers: Victory, Victory Leo’s his own arch-enemy, what with all the psychotic episodes.

Hey, there’s discussions on here that I can’t follow. 80s pop culture, though, that’s where I shine, especially Transformers. Besides, anyone who doesn’t understand will either pipe up and ask or just not pay attention

I used to think I was a geek because I collected undergound comics, reprints of EC comics, and paperback reprints of pulp magazine fiction.
After reading this thread, I realize I wasn’t a geek at all.
You guys–you guys are geeks!!!
you guys have forgotten the one hero<->villain pair you’ve spent more hours with than any other:
Super Mario <-> Bowser

Given that the cartoons had three separate origins for the Constructicons (“Heavy Metal War,” “The Secret of Omega Supreme,” and the flashback where they built Megatron in “Five Faces of Darkness”), I’m suspicious that that particular origin is more valid than the rest.

That’s not the real Galvatron – he didn’t go “BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” even once!

True 'nuff.

I majored in Transformers, with a minor in G.I. Joe and Mighty Orbots, myself. Already got my order in for the Unicron bust, too…

The Cenobites and Leviathan Vs The Harrowers and Morte Mamme

OK, I’ll bite: what the heck are “The Harrowers and Morte Mamme”? Cenobites and Leviathan are from the Hellraiser films, correct? Was this some comic book thing?
