I have never watched the show, and don’t plan to start, but your description made me think of this painting by Caillebotte (which I believe is pronounced something like Kyle-Bott).
I believe the painting I linked to would be of a Paris street, anyway. Are there other details in the picture that might help to isolate it?
FWIW there are many older paintings and/or prints that seem to have been popular in the earlier decades. My grandparents had one of an American Indian warrior or chieftain standing alone in the woods that I saw several other versions of over the years.
The “September Morn” picture of the girl bathing in a stream is also fairly popular.
But I can’t remember any street scenes that seem blurry because of rainy conditions.
The painting had a view that looked like it was looking down at the street from another building. There was a few people walking down the street, but since it looked like it was raining there isn’t many details. Also the trees going down the street were without leaves so it was most likely winter .
I forgot to mention that the buildings from the painting Zeldar suggested are the same style, and the street looks almost the same as the painting in question. Besides the perspective of the painting another difference is the brightness. While Zeldar’s painting is very bright the other one is darker.
For those wanting to see it and take a stab, the painting can be seen at 1:24 into this poorly-synched clip - the sound is about 5 seconds earlier than the picture.
That was the last season I watched, and not because the lottery win annoyed me (frankly, I saw a lot of comic potential in it); I simply moved onto other things and lost track.
I was rather surprised to learn much later that the show went on for multiple seasons afterward. I’d’ve figured the lottery win was just a silly stunt a show could only get away with (in fact, would only consider trying to get away with) in its final season.
My God, will none of you take a stab at this? Hell, I had to slog through pages of Roseanna trivia to find it for you, the least you can do is pretend to be half as smart as I know you all are!!
