I don’t think it’s published any more, but is not an obscure strip. Central character is a smart blond kid with glasses and pursed lips, he has an older teenage brother who wears a cap and I think dates a blind girl… It’s right on the tip of my tongue. It isn’t ‘Zits’.

Indeed, and time flies – the cartoonist, Bill Amend, went to Sundays-only for the strip 15 years ago, at the end of 2006.
I’ll be damned…I’ve read Foxtrot forever, and I never knew about the blind girlfriend.
My recollection is that, even when it was a daily strip, she wasn’t featured often, and since the strip went to Sundays only (which seems to make it more of a weekly gag, rather than the short story arcs it used to feature), she might well have appeared even less often.
Her entry on the FoxTrot Wiki (linked above) says that she’s been phased out of the strip, but there’s no further information on that.
