Name the CD that you listen to but would embarrased to admit it

My favourite CDs are by My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, Miles Davis, Squarepusher, Sigur Rós, Velvet Underground… Good stuff. I wouldn’t have a single CD that I’m even close to being ashamed of…
…if it wasn’t for Michael Jackson. I’m a sucker for his early stuff. :frowning:

PS. It disturbs me that some REALLY REALLY good music has been mentioned here. I mean, Jean-Michel Jarre? Beastie Boys? DS.

It would have to be A Tramp Shining by Richard Harris. Songs by Jimmy Webb.

Somehow I find the lyrics of every track have some personal meaning to them. Like the opening track, Didn’t We.

This time we almost made the pieces fit
Didn’t we girl
This time we almost made some sense of it
Didn’t we girl

Have a listen to it. You won’t be able to tell your friends, but you may enjoy.

Barry Manilow’s Greatest Hits Vol. 1 (“It’s a miracle. A true blue spectacle, a miracle come true!”)

They’re Playing Our Song Original Cast Recording - Yep, Robert Klein AND Lucie Arnaz - TOP THAT! I dares ya! (“And now I’m fallin’, fallin’, fallin’ fast again…”)

Captain and Tennille’s Greatest Hits - (“Lonely nights, I cry myself to sleep. Tell me what am I gonna do. BOMP BOMP BOMP”)

Gordon Lightfoot’s “Greatest Hits”.

But it doesn’t have The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, dammit!

I have a CD of music inspired by the PowerPuff Girls.

Go Monkey Go!

There is a new Complete Greatest Hits album of his out which does have “Wreck” as well as all of his other Top Ten hits.

I know this because I’ve been listening to it as I type this.

I actually like a lot of the music that most people think “sucks” ie; Britney, BSB, NYSNYC etc.

Now, that doesn’t mean that I like ALL of their songs, but Ilike more then a few.

As for most embarassing CD, I don’t know that I’m embarassed by any of my CD’s but I do have “Weird Al” Yankovic’s Greatest Hits Volume’s 1 & 2.

Plus I have the Journey Live CD which came out a few years back.

Weird Al is embarrassing?? Uh oh. I have the boxed set, several other CDs, and a DVD. :X

Oh yeah, and my question was published in Ask Al on his website.

Well, I just might have The Best of the Bee Gees hidden well behind all my other CD’s.

Dude! Frente is nothing to be ashamed about! Angie Hart is a sweetheart. My brother met her in the early-mid 90’s and said she was the sweetest person.

I like to listen to Enya on rotation. I also have a Seal CD stashed away somewhere. Hey, at least I don’t listen to Creed like my girlfriend does! shudder

The four I was going to mention have already been confessed to in this thread. So in the “Who’s the Biggest Dweeb at SDMB?” contest, would that be used to vidicate me or crucify me?

In my defense, none of the 4 is the Partridge Family.

Don’t push your luck, Corrado. I once slapped a man (our mutual friend) for saying that would be a great show. No foolin’.

Me? About 3 months ago I went berzerk and picked up Manilow’s Greats. Man, what fun that is.

“I’ve been aliiiiiiiive forever…
And I wrote the very first song”

I started trying to read the entire thread but it got too painful so here’s a dedicated Zepplin fan’s contribution of filth…

Dionne Warwick’s Greatest Hits.

I think I’m going to be sick…

Did you see what Jonathan put?

We were a pretty revolting one two punch, huh?

Hey, I LIKE the Carpenters. I also like Celine Dion.

ducks and runs

Duran Duran (occasionally embarrassing)

Village People (totally embarrassing)

The Cure Greatest Hits

I heard only gay people listen to The Cure. I think they kick ass though. But, I’m not gay.

Hello, my name is Revtim, and I listen to ‘Insane Clowne Posse’.

I own a rather well used copy of the CD Single “mmmBop” by Hanson. And I sing along. Beat THAT.
