Our company is looking for a name for their plan to upgrade the lowliest of the pc’s to a more modern architecture. Basically anything slower than 300mhz is being replaced with a new pc.
Currently it is being referred to as PC Replacement project, but there is concern that everyone will think they are getting a new pc, and as listed above, that is not the case. The new name should try to avoid this confusion.
The usual term is cascade. Usually, you give the people who need the fastest machines(or the ones who have the most polictical clout), then you cascade their machines to the next one down the line, and so on, until you all the leftovers are the slowest, which you have to pay someone to haul off.
PC Cascade program or something along those lines.
Thanks, after all this polling and showing this thread, they are sticking with the original thought, which I misrepresented as PC Replacement, but rather is PC Refreshment.
