Somebody revived a thread in GQ that was first posted in 1999. At least, that’s the way it came up on my screen. Being a '99er I would have liked to see some of those names. Are names removed from very old threads or is it just my computer?

The board used to run on UBB and now it runs on vB and the two store username info differently. vB used to be able to read UBB’s username info but now it doesn’t. I imagine that all the posters with no username have not posted since a particular update and they don’t have a recent enough version of their username info for the software to read. Whether it could be fixed or not if they logged in and posted, I’m not sure. It looks like one of the unknown respondents was the erstwhile mod Nickerz so I’m guessing not.
There was a glitch in the archives (related to the switch to the current software?), resulting in loss of names from some old threads. This search has many threads on the subject Google Search
