NAQOYOATSI trailer out!

And if you have quicktime, you can see it here. Opens October 18th.

Of course, that should have read “NAQOYQATSI”. (You know, the preview feature doesn’t help with the title)

Now I feel hideously out of the loop for not knowing what NAQOYAQATSI stands for…

The third movie in the Koyaanisqatsi (1983)/
Powaqqatsi (1988) Trilogy. Basically (really basically) trippy imagery set to the music of Philip Glass.

I’ve never heard of it either tavalla, but the IMDb has.

Hot DAMN!

It looks great - thanks for the head’s up, lawoot.

ACE!

And don’t forget that Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi come out on video on September 12th! (Now if I can just find a theater in my area that’s going to show NAQOYQATSI when it comes out.)

For those without QuickTime, the trailer is available in other formats through iFilm.

Can I gloat? I saw Powaqqatsi a number of years ago with Philip Glass conducting a live orchestra accompaniment. A significant event in the life of any Glassophile.

WHOOHOO!! They finally finished it. I can’t wait to see the trailor but with my dial up connection I may have to wait.

Anyone going to check out the new Philip Glass opera Galileo Galilei this fall? I’ll most certainly be in attendance at BAM in Oct.

Oh, and gloat all you want, if I may join you. A couple of years ago there was a “Glass on Film” festival at BAM during which time I saw the Philip Glass ensemble perform Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi and a few other short films by Glass and Reggio including Anima Mundi and a clever and disturbing little film called Evidence.

I am hoping many of these will tour again soon in the publicity campaign for Naqoyqatsi.

Oh, and for those curious, here, andhere are two former threads that deal with Koyaanisqatsi.

Bump Anybody see the film yet?
