You step into the stream, yet the water keeps moving…Now you are in the presence of abscence

According to Encyclopedia Britannica, stock-car racing started during prohibition when bootleggers started modifying ordinary passenger cars to make them faster.
Organized racing begain in Pennsylvania in 1939. NASCAR was founded at Daytona Beach, Florida in 1947. Daytona beach had been the locale of stock car races since the 1930s, but the first organized race there was in 1948.

You don’t have a thing to worry about. I’ll have the jury eating out of my hand. Meanwhile, try to escape.

Since we’re on the subject… whats the deal with that dude that has the long stick, and apparantly cleans the front bumper of the car. (This happens during pit stops… Essentially…a few guys change tires… one guy puts in gas, a few guys do car adjustments… and theres one dude with this big stick… as far as I can tell he just is cleaning the bumper off) My question is… why? Do bugs stick and slow the car down?

Screeme

I thought the guy with the big stick gave the driver a water bottle. I imagine that he could also clean off the car.

I believe there is also a limit to how many members of the crew can go over the pit wall.

They don’t get bugs stuck in the radiator grille (not many, anyway), but it does clog up with little chunks of rubber that come off other cars’ tires.

Two rednecks were admiring their vehicles one morning when one said to the other, “NAS-CAR. Wanna race?”
