Rather than continuing to inject responses into Nashville attractions for country music haters? in an effort to refute the idea that Nashville is only for Country Music lovers, I’d like input from anybody who knows and cares to support the contrarian viewpoint.
Supplement what’s already available at these sites with other names and stories of quality musicians who work (and live perhaps) in Nashville (studios and clubs and elsewhere) whose music is at least not all-Country.
Lists of names and instruments they play(ed) would be fine. Stories of their work, even better.
It seems they’re from Franklin ( Paramore - Wikipedia ) which is a nearby town, as is Murfreesboro, Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, and dozens of others. Maybe Wikipedia’s Nashville Groups list was trying to be specifically Nashville proper. For my own tastes, Middle Tennessee may as well be “Nashville” since it’s a short commute on most days.
Judging from Nashville Musicians Association – Member Profile Pages (Public) getting a comprehensive listing may prove difficult if not impossible. But, based on rumor and scuttle-butt I have heard, these folks have at least part-time residence and working situations in the Nashville area:
Larry Carlton
Michael McDonald
Tommy Emmanuel
Charlie Daniels
The Wooten Brothers
Doubtless even others whose privacy concerns are important to them.
Well, hello there, Eve! Good to see you back! Surely you must have run across this link to Noshville Authentic New York Delicatessen in Nashville in your search for the song. From what I hear (yet to eat there myself) it’s a great place in each location.
I just hope Ponch8 makes it over to this thread to see it.
You know any musicians or other entertainers in Nashville yourself?
