That’s good too- I was thinking of strawberry shortcakes. Maybe cranberries with stuffing between the rows of cranberries (for the white stripes)?

The Japanese flag is very common as a theme in Japanese lunch boxes, where it’s called “Hinomaru bento”, and made with white rice with a pickled plum in the centre. Here’s a picture of a bento (lunch box) where one half is the “Hinomaru bento” (“Hinomaru” is the Japanese name of the Japanese flag).

The U.S. flag should be dabs of cream from Twinkies on a blueberry background, and strips of bacon.

SOME of us eat catsup on hot dogs. No person selling hot dogs has ever given me the evil eye for ordering it that way. (My husband, on the other hand…)

I too love Japan’s flag. I could just eat it up.

ETA: bacon sounds like a winner.

They should have used Kimchi mixed with some Gochuchang for S. Korea, but it still looks good.

Here is their flag. Perhaps blood of the countless victims could fill in the red. The blue I have no idea.

I agree that their rendition of America’s flag is lame. Using that square blue plate is cheating. The UK flag is also pretty lame. You could make something very similar for any country.
