NATO vessel fired on by Russian Warship? Uncertain value to news. Confirmation/details?

I was watching a news accumulator/compiler channel on ROKU (Haystack News), and one of the channels ran a news bar at the bottom of the page stating that a Russian Naval vessel fired on a NATO vessel in NATO waters.

I can find no confirmation of this.

IF it happened, this is very, very bad.

Can any Dopers confirm, or is it BS from a small news site?

I did a search and haven’t found any news of that sort within the last 24 hours.

Thank you.
It may have been an old story about a freighter fired on by Russians in Turkish waters.
Likely an error on the station’s part.

Mistakes also happen. One round that doesn’t do any damage leads to pointedly indignant messages between diplomats, not WWIII.

A no shit full effort attack by one warship upon another is rather a bigger deal.

Overall you seem to have a very high emotional tone about every event since the original invasion.

Not every event that gets reported is significant, much less a turning point.
