True, they’re just reporting on the behavior of (misguided) individuals, but they never bother to note that Krups didn’t particularly profit from the war (at least, no more/differently than they did before and after the war).

There may also be some confusion about which company they are mad at. Krups is a small appliance maker (I think they got started by making scales), Krupps is an arms manufacturer that created many weapons including the famous ‘88’ anti-aircraft gun during WWII.
Speaking of putting “the funky Beetle of one’s youth in a new light,” didn’t one of their US ad campaigns say “from the people who brought you World War II…”? Or am I thinking of a Japanese car?
