NBA 2018-2019 Season

I get the feeling he believed he was gonna get axed and decided to quit first. Aside from “landing” LeBron, his tenure as president of basketball operations was notably incompetent.

Harden’s at it again. Tell me again that he doesn’t get away with blatant shit to draw fouls.

makes you wonder if Phil Jackson might be thinking of being gm or coaching or both in la again…

Hahahahaha! Now that’s funny. If you know any Laker fans and want to make their day worse, suggest he take on those dual roles to them or just that he take the GM job. I think he might have health challenges that would preclude him from flying with a team everywhere.

I admit that the Magic thing is kind of an interesting story, but ESPN is covering it like a sitting president got caught having an affair with another foreign leader. Seriously, SportsCenter this morning was wall-to-wall Magic Johnson. He was a mediocre team president for like two years, i get that he was a big star, but why is this getting “Story of the Year” coverage? Are they that desperate for talking points?

::whew - Raptors won’t have to face the Pistons first round::

Concerned about Kyle Lowry - not just his back, but both ankles. I foresee Van Vleet having to fill in and raise his already fine game to a whole new level. Interesting to see if one of the league’s most improved players - Pascal Siakam - can maintain in the play-offs what he was doing throughout the season.

Portland had an entertaining last regular season game with SAC. They played their deep bench folks the entire game and came back from a 28 point deficit to win. Rookie Anfernee Simons had 37 points on the night and Skal Labissiere had 29. I think perhaps coach Stotts had a chat with SAC’s coach at half-time and said something to the effect of “Hey, come on, are you really going to play your first string the entire game against a bunch of rookies? How about leveling the playing field here.”

So now POR will play OKC and Mr. Psycho in the opening playoff round.

Chisquirrel: Harden’s been a sneaky fucker since forever. All that flailing around, grabbing, holding, hooking. Without his cheating ways, he’d be an ordinary player.

I’m not expecting great things from the home team, but the West brackets really line up nicely for the Spurs. We get to avoid both Houston and GSW, until the Conference Finals… and if the Spurs make the Conference Finals, this city will explode.

The Pacers face the Celtics in the first round, and if we get past them, it’s probably the Bucks. We may not have Victor Oladipo, but don’t sleep on us.

Nothing like consistency with the Raptors now having won only one of their ten play-off openers, with a wake-up call losing to Orlando. Lowry was invisible at 0 for 7.
Not that I was expecting four straight.

Was it you who was saying Lowry’s ankles were jacked up? If they are, then his performance is a bit easier to understand. You guys should pull it out though, but wow, was Saturday upset day.

Unlike Sunday. Rare to see the Rockets beat the Jazz by 30, with an over 2-1 free throw disparity against them. At home. God only knows how the officiating will be in Utah.

At this point, I just want them to get through this as injury-free as possible, and get on with duking it out with the Warriors.

Ah? no, Spurs are the 7# seed. If they beat Denver and GSW beats the Clippers (which GSW most likely will do,) then it’s Spurs vs. Warriors in the conference semis.

But that’s not how that works. That’s not how any of this works!

Warriors just blew a 31-point lead!

But that’s not how that works. That’s not how any of this works!

Portland finally broke their playoff losing streak (10 in a row) with a game one win over OKC. Has to be a huge morale boost. Paul George has an iffy shoulder, which may have affected his shooting early on. If it gets worse, then I don’t see OKC winning this series. Portland had some hot shooting, which took pressure off of Kantor inside and allowed him to rack up some impressive stats. Hopefully, POR can pull off game two at home to put more pressure on OKC.

Nurkic who? Great job winning by 20 and taking a 2-0 lead, Portland. Lots of tying up series left and right.

Hopefully the Rockets can take care of business like the 'Blazers have so far.

Yeah, that second half was a barn-burner. Even when Kanter was pulled, Myers Leonard really stepped up with ferocity in the middle. I had to laugh when Big Skinny (Zach Collins) and Markieff Morris got into it. Collins really is fearless. Portland needs to steal one in OKC, or, dare I say it, sweep them.

So much for a sweep. Portland returned to its aggravating turnover ways, and OKC was finally hitting their shots. The end was rowdy, and the poor sportsmanship by Paul George with a last second showboat dunk pretty much defines that team.
