NBA 2022-23 Season

When was the last time a seed as high as 2 lost to an eight seed?

That’s certainly where the money is going right now. Heavily so; some books have the Nuggets as upwards of 3-to-1 or 4-to-1 favourites. I see no reason to disagree. Denver has only lost three times in the entire playoffs so far. They look like a team of destiny.

I’m not an avid NBA fan, but I do follow the sport, and the Heat/Celtic series seems like the strangest NBA series in history.

  1. How many times has a team lost 3 in a row and still won a series?
  2. How many times has a team managed to lose 3 games at home in a 7 game series?
  3. How many times have BOTH teams in a series won 3 in a row AND lost 3 in a row?

If you said never before now, I’d believe you.

Believe it or not this sequence has happened three times before.

:flushed:

Boston couldn’t buy a 3-pointer. 9-42 all night, and many of them were pull-up 3s which is one of the worst shots you can possibly take.

A couple weeks ago when the #1 seed did.

Everyone’s picking the Nuggets. Which makes me want to back Miami, even though I don’t really like them.

Nuggets appeared to dominate Game 1, but couldn’t ever quite put the game away. Had the Heat shot a bit better, it might have been a close game.

Miami set a record last night by attempting only two free throws in a playoff game.

Miami is coming off a number of tough series, going from sea level to mile high; they wanted no part of the paint against a man-for-man taller team. They seemed to have no legs which affected the jump shots.

A couple of nights acclimation will see a better effort. Denver seems to just win without the flash. Jokic is a real rock every night.

Jokic is not going to be easy to beat. Especially so after a long series. The Heat played okay. But they’ll need to step it up. Nuggets in six.

A great comeback win for Miami on the road. Still Nuggets in six, but no silver platters involved.

I just can’t count Miami out at this point.

Neither can I. I still say Denver will win it, but the series is now in Miami for two games. Wouldn’t it be cool if the Heat take both games to go up 3-1, and then Denver win the final 3 games to win it in 7?

Two big differences were 3-point shooting and free throws. In Game 1, Miami was 13-39 from 3; Game 2, 17-35. In Game 1, Miami was 2-2 from the line; Game 2 19-20.

Suns release Chris Paul with two years left on his contract.

8:30 left in game 3 and Denver is starting to run away with it, leading by 21. Miami was hanging tough until the middle of the 3rd, when Denver started to extend their lead. It doesn’t look promising for the Heat tonight.

Miami came back and had a chance to cut it to 7 with about 1:20 to play, but missed the shot. It’s back to 13 with a minute to play.

And it’s over. The Nuggets win by 15.

The Heat played well for the first half than ran out of steam. Jokic first player in NBA final history to have 30 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists.

Reporter: You’re the first player in NBA history to have 30 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists! What does that mean to you?

Jokic: To be honest, not much.
