NBA 2022-23 Season

Well.

Um.

We had a bit of a Lakers letdown. Got creamed by the Kings last night, and I do mean creamed.

Raptors have played okay especially given so many injuries. But they’ll need to do a bit better soon. Zion and New Orleans had no problem with Toronto, with a long lead all game.

The T-wolves continue their downward spiral with a loss to OKC. Gobert was ejected for a flagrant-2 foul wherein he both kicked and tripped Kenrich Williams. Williams, after both he and Gobert got tangled up and ended up on the floor, apparently had something nasty to say, which Gobert took exception to. KAT is still out.

My other team, POR, also continues to rack up losses as Lillard sits on the bench. Makes me want to bang my head on the table, as they’ve shown they can beat a lot of these teams.

Pacers fans are a fickle bunch. We’re on a mere two-game losing streak, but we’re still 6-4 in our last 10 and #5 in the East, and someone on my Pacers Fans Facebook Group asked if we should start tanking for a top-7 draft pick or try to see how far this group can go. Jesus. It’s no wonder we’re dead-last in attendance. It’s no wonder the Pacers needed a telethon to sell enough tickets to make it to the NBA in the first place. FICKLE!

I’ve actually heard Timberwolves “fans” booing their team during a game. I never saw that in Portland, even when the Blazers were at their worst.

Raptors played great against the Lakers. But they can’t be serious contenders until they find a way to win on the road. Are they still 3-9 away?

Pacers’ Chris Duarte should be coming back soon. Ben Mathurin won Rookie of the Month for October/November working completely as the sixth man. He’s got the inside track on both awards.

Well they just lost to the bottom of the league Magic. Franz Wagner > Scottie Barnes, sorry.

And I’ll contend only for that game that that’s the case.

Scottie Barnes isn’t playing all that well, to be honest; his failure to take a step forward is one of the reasons the Raps are underperforming expectations. Scottie doesn’t seem to be driving the basket as well, and he makes a lot of turnovers. His defense has not been up to snuff.

I expect him to turn it around, but it hasn’t been there yet.

Sure, Barnes is going through a sophomore slump (while Warner is currently leading him in almost every statistical category), however I’m quite confident that last year’s rookie of the year will completely turn it around, sooner than later.

Heh, yeah - his missed (easy) lay-up (which would have won the game) in the dieing seconds against Atlanta two weeks ago does painfully come to mind.

And to keep that rolling, Scottie was absolutely terrible today as the Raps again lost to the Magic.

After some killer games, the Blazers got bombed by Dallas in a wipeout. After getting smeared by everyone, the Timbermutts (with both KAT and Gobert on the bench) won against a hapless OKC team.

Orlando cruises to their fifth win in a row over best team in the league Celtics who they play again on Sunday, this time without Tatum.

And now its six in a row over the no longer first seed Celtics.

I’ve not tuned in for awhile to see Toronto play. I tuned in tonight to watch Siakam score 52 points, a career high, and the Raptors finally won, ending New York’s eight game winning streak.

Siakam and VanVleet played well tonight. The team has been lousy on the road, so nice to see them win away. Or at all.

The score after the first quarter in last night’s Raptors/Bucks game was 13-12. TO missed 28 of their first 30 field goal attempts.
Hoping Barnes would’ve turned it around by now, but no - he’s really fighting it, along wiith basically all Raptors this season, except for Siakam on many nights.
Strange game, with a crazy 28-7 Raptors run in the final three minutes that wiped out a 21-point Bucks lead, featuring a Gary Trent Jr. 3-pointer with .08 seconds left (heh - only to lose in OT).

For old time’s sake, we thought we’d watch the Blazers play since they were here to play the T-wolves. Thought it would be fun to watch Dame, Nurk and the gang. We were wrong. I don’t think I ever really noticed just how lazy they are on the court. It’s no wonder they can’t get within a stone’s throw of the playoffs. At least the Wolves have energy and heart. The Blazers have the worst scoring bench in the NBA, can’t play D worth a shit, and can’t figure out why they consistently lose to lesser teams. I am finally done with them for good.

Captain of the “All Cancer” team looking for a trade. Some shitbag owner will give him millions to destroy a team.

Who wouldn’t want a super-narcissist who craves attention more than anything else?

The Nets would be nuts to trade him during the season. Let him sulk and damage what’s left of his marketability if he wants.
