NBA Halftime Atrocity

Hip-hop fans are probably already going to be watching. They don’t need to court those viewers; they’re already tuning in for the basketball. Having Lisa Marie or Destiny’s Child do the half time show brings in the wives and girlfriends who would otherwise not bother with the game.

I have to admit that I’ve been drawn in by the halftime entertainment. I do not watch basketball, ever. But I’m a huge U2 fan, so I did tune in to see them on the halftime show a couple of years ago. So I guess that fits in with them trying to draw in viewers who wouldn’t be watching otherwise, if only for a few minutes.

Does the NBA really need to court fans of awfully bad singers? Are thry that desparate? What’s next, fans of director Joe Eszterhas, present comapny excepted?
