NBA Playoffs are here!

Duh! Rhetorical question, thank you.

The Lakers and Spurs have actually lost home games to their first round match ups, the Bulls are about to sweep the Pacers. Barely beat? the top West teams are still questionable to get out of the first round, Bulls are looking much much better right now and so is Miami and Boston.

Indiana…is winning?? There’s still 9 minutes left but it looks like they can make this interesting

Indiana has been winning at points in the fourth quarter in every single game. At the end Rose just goes Rose on them.

The Grizzlies and Hornets are way better teams than the Pacers. Indiana wouldn’t have even made the playoffs in the West. The Rockets, Suns and Jazz had better records than the Pacers, but they’re sitting at home, watching. And the Bulls didn’t sweep. Their three wins were all close.

That Pacers arena looked to be like 90% Bulls fans, at least on the lower bowl. Kinda sad.

News of Brandon Roy’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I told you the truth about Roy, didn’t I? I am a lifelong Blazer fan, but I gave up watching at the end of the third. I just happened to check the score in time to watch the last two minutes. What an amazing comeback!

Yeah, that was interesting.

An exciting last four minutes. Bulls had numerous ops but kept missing shots or making dumb mistakes. Larry Bird looked absolutely constipated by the end, tho. A tough series for him. Pacers need a new Reggie Miller type guy. (I think Rose was trying force a Miller style scoring binge at the end. Bulls got too wild and blew that.)

-I am not a fan of the Heat, but I will say that their first round has been pretty impressive. It should be an interesting series between them and the Celtics next round.

-I haven’t really seen a lot of the Chicago series but Indiana WAS one of their three losses since the beginning of March. Can someone educate me? Is Chicago having as much trouble with the interior game of Indiana as it seems by the rather limited minutes I’ve seen (about a game or game and a half total, bad timing is all).

-I wouldn’t mind seeing Atlanta pull this one out. The sooner we get rid of Orlando, the sooner the Dwight Howard trade talk start this summer. With one year left before he takes off for a big market (as I’m sure he’ll do), Orlando would be stupid not to trade him.

-As for the West, some pretty interesting series’. I especially like Oklahoma City/Denver, but I have to be honest, I really thought Denver had more of a shot in this one, but OK City has been pretty good the first two games.

-My Spurs are now a three point shooting team, they never fair well in the playoffs (or so it seems). I haven’t had a lot of hope for them all season.

-The Lakers are now just getting started their 10 week season, they have to be the favorites, don’t they? Gasol has played poorly thus far and they are still up 2-1.

As for today, that was some kind of impressive by Portland. The corpse of Brandon Roy is clearly awakening. If he continues to play well, Portland could be pretty dangerous.

I’m excited about these playoffs. A lot of teams who could win.

Holy Shit - Rip City!!!

Oh my god, Blazers eviscerated the Mavs in that last quarter! Not even Dirk could off-balance shoot his way back into a victory!

This is why people were talking about Portland being dangerous before the playoffs. They’ve got a huge team and great players. If Brandon Roy can conserve his knees and go in 8-10 min spurts, he can be the Brandon Roy of old where he was a sure fire All-Star. I don’t want my Lakers facing them in the 2nd round so I’m rooting for Dallas, but I want the Blazers to bang them up a bit and scare them

Indiana pulls out an expected win. I guess the math was bound to catch up to Chicago sooner or later since all 3 of their wins have been close. Not terribly surprised they lost even though I predicted a win for them today.

Memphis is taking it to the Spurs right now. 2 mins left in the 3rd and they’re up 10. Manu fell on his elbow a minute ago. Memphis has a great chance to take these 2 games at home and go back to SA up 3-1.

It’s official. Memphis is up 2 games to 1.

The West is damn interesting. Memphis (West?) is up on Dallas and could be up 3-1 going back to Dallas. The Trailblazers are up on the Mavs. The Lakers look vulnerable, and so far the Nuggetsa are a different team with Aaron Afflalo back in the lineup.

Memphis is up on San Antonio. The TrailBlazers are even with the Mavs.

I hope the Nuggets gut this one out against the Thunder and make this a series. 3 lower seeds won today, might as well make it 4!

Boston is the first team in the second round. They made it look easy against the Knicks.

Too bad what happened to A’mare and Chauncy, it could have been a decent series if Melo had any help.

Grizzlies are unexpectedly good

You could say the Spurs are unexpectedly bad. Hard to say which is more true. We’ll find out in the second round.
