Everyone aboard the Mavs bandwagon. Our only hope against the dreaded Heat. Dallas is now America’s team!
As much as I dislike the Heat for shutting down the nervous Bulls, I’m certain their defense will own the Mavs too…
It didn’t do so in the regular season.
The Bulls swept the Heat in the regular season too. The regular season doesn’t mean jack.
King James is going to get his first ring. I know that’s not very satisfying to a lot of people, but it’s going to happen. In the NBA post season, talent wins.
I don’t know. Right at this moment, Dirk is a better player than anyone the Heat have faced in this playoffs. The Mavs have beaten some very very good teams and it’s generally looked very easy.
I wouldn’t bet on the series either way, but I wouldn’t crown 'em just yet.
Chicago is having problems because Miami can put a big, athletic guy like LeBron on him at crunch time and make it tough for him to get good shots. They won’t be able to do that to Dirk.
No, I actually don’t know that they have any answers to Dirk at all. What, is Bosh going to guard him?
Dirk will eat Bosh alive, while drawing him away from the basket. If they double him, Terry will drain 3s.
I think Dallas has also proven that they can cause problems defensively themselves, but I like LeBron driving to the basket more than Durant. It should be a great series (though I’m still holding out hope that Chicago can come back).
ETA: I was talking about Rose in my previous comment, which I didn’t make clear.
Plus Dallas has a wider array of scorers that Chicago.
It was obvious what you meant because the Bulls don’t have any one else.
I said earlier in this thread that nobody in the East can beat the West champ, except maybe Miami. Now we know who the West champ is, I feel that even stronger. The way Dirk is playing, I don’t think even Miami can stop them. The Mavericks will beat the franchise that beat them in the Finals five years ago.
I can’t wait to see the Bulls play next year because you know they will be a way better team after making it to the Eastern Conference Finals this year. The improvement they made over the last 3 years is incredible and they are a better team than they are showing in this Miami series, you would almost think they aren’t a championship team by the way they are losing to Miami. They didn’t expect themselves to be this good this year. This should have definitely been a 7 game series. I’m babbling but whatever
To the Dallas believers, Dallas is playing incredible basketball and their game is very clean. The OKC series was a joke to them so don’t expect the next series to go as smooth. Honestly, even if Dirk plays as good as he has been, do you expect Dirk to score 80+ points? They could let Dirk score all night and contain everyone else, contain them and seal em’ up in a box.
This is a year for the East
The Bulls have plenty other people and they haven’t come alive in this series but neither has D. Rose. That was a stupid ass possession when the Bulls could have won game 4 with the last shot. They gave it it to D. Rose on an Isolation against L. James (last two possessions I believe). D. Rose is young and inexperienced when it comes to the NBA, that was waaay to much pressure to put on him (ECF?) when they have players who have been in the league much longer than him. Of course it would have looked better for the MVP to make the game winning shot but it wasn’t smart.
It’s been a good series. No blowouts and every game has been down to the wire.
Ugh. If there is a god, please don’t let the Heat win the championship. Please.
No foul on the last shot for D Rose?
That 4th quarter said it all. And what a dogshit performance by Boozer this series. That guy’s fast becoming one of the most overrated players in the game (he’s already one of the most overpaid).
Chicago with the complete offensive collapse (can’t do anything when both Wade and LeBron are hitting pull up Js). I don’t know if Rose even hit 40% shooting for the entire playoffs. He needs to work out his mid-range jumper and his passing out of the PnR and general decision making, but a lot of that just comes with experience. Boozer was playing with that foot injury, maybe he’ll be healthy next year. Wait, what am I saying…
I changed over to baseball in the fourth quarter, but my M’s were up 8-0, so I turned it back and Dallas were within two. Another amazing comeback. I can’t get over how awesome these playoffs have been. Dallas wins homecourt.
Yeah, that 4th quarter was amazing for the Mavs! Exciting finish–the game was up for grabs until the buzzer.
