I’m a Pacers fan, but Lance Stephenson (who recently returned to Indiana) is still a real fucking asshole, isn’t he?
13 now.
I don’t think it’s possible for them to get the worst record in the entire league, but they are giving it their best shot.
So, with the Lakers in full tank mode… Popovich blows up the tank last night by keeping Kawahi’s minutes – and pretty much all other starters’ minutes – way down.
So the Lakers end up beating San Antonio in San Antonio with Metta World Peace logging 30 minutes, etc. They’re a full two games up (down?) on Phoenix for the 2nd worst record and it looks like they’ll finish that way and have about a 46% chance of keeping their pick in the upcoming draft, which is top 3 protected. Should they fall out of the top three, the Lakers also lose their 2019 first rounder, which goes to Orlando as part of the Dwight Howard trade debacle. (Should the Lakers keep their pick in the upcoming draft the Orlando trade turns into two second rounders. Don’t ask me to explain further.)
Point is, a Lakers successful tank job is crucial to the team’s future.
Now, I’m a diehard Lakers fan, but you know what? Good for Pop. If the league accepts the tanking process you have every right to do what you can to keep the tankers from getting good, especially if history has dictated that the offending team has been a longtime nemesis.
The team that tanked for Robinson and Duncan, purposely blowing another tanking teams chances?
Denver lost to OKC by one point, so they’re out of the playoffs and the Blazer are in. Not that they’ll survive the first round, but perhaps they can rest some people over the remaining few games, especially Lillard after his 59 point franchise record last night.
Russell Westbrook broke Oscar Robertson’s record by recording his 42nd triple-double of the season, and is also guaranteed to become the second person (Robertson being the first) to average a triple-double in a season.
The Wizards are struggling in their last few games, as they prepare to face a Hawks team that is suddenly energized. I could easily see them collapsing in the first round.
Suns managed to give the faithful fans a win in the last home game of the season. And they’re on a two-game win streak. Longest of the season!
Yeah, that sucked. The Nuggets blew a decent lead, Westbrook hit a last second 3 pointer and the book on this season is closed. The Plumlee trade looks really bad, because they gave Nurkic and a first round pick to the team that ended up booting them from the playoffs.
Yeah; I know that there were problems with Nurkic, but taking Plumlee and giving away a first round to get rid of him? Did they not watch the game videos?
Last day of the regular season. If my Pacers win, they’re locked in as the #7 seed, and will battle either Cleveland or Boston in the first round. If they lose, then they need the Bulls or the Heat to lose. If the Pacers lose, and both the Bulls and Heat win, Chicago and Miami make the playoffs and we don’t.
Frankly, we’ve played like shit all year, so the playoffs would be a miracle. Fortunately, tonight’s opponent, the Atlanta Hawks, is already locked-in and will probably rest some of its players.
The Suns clinched worst in the West, and just missed worst in the league.
Now that they’re done playing, I won’t have to feel bad about not watching. Dbacks take up too much time!
Two nights ago, the Blazers beat SA without playing their stars. Lillard, McCollum, and Harkless sat out the entire game. The bench did well for themselves, especially Shabaz Napier, who is clearly going to be a star for someone. Vonleh’s last gasp rebound basket won it for them. The starters are back for tonight’s game with the Pelicans.
So with the Warriors’ loss to the Jazz, the 90s Bulls get to keep one regular-season record for the foreseeable future - the Warriors now have the best 1-year, 3-year, and 4-year (I think) records in history, but the 95-97 Bulls with 141 wins continue to have the best 2-year record. No idea who holds the best 5+ year records.
