At the moment, they’re not really playing their stars all that hard - Draymond Green leads the team with 34.6 minutes per game, which is only 24th in the league. If I were them (or the Spurs, who also have a shot at it), I would want that record because why not?
It’s unlikely, but I’d kinda like them both to break the record. And then have the Warriors win the title of course :).
Did David Blatt get shafted out of coaching the all star game?
I believe so
Pop plans to rest Tim Duncan tomorrow when the Spurs play the warriors.
Not surprised at all

Uh… Kobe?
Thought the all star game was this week and the Warriors won.
Any all star game when melo is a starter is not worth watching
Anybody watch the All Star game? I only caught a few minutes and was quickly bored to tears watching guy after guy stroll down the lane like a walk in the park for an uncontested dunk. Not even very many fancy dunks. And, unfortunately, I missed all of the events on Saturday. I understand Zach LaVine is the dunk champ and Klay Thompson the 3 point champ.
The saturday events were FAR FAR superior to the actual game, even if Aaron Gordon got royally screwed out of the dunk title. You owe it to yourself to watch his dunks, they were pretty much the best dunks in basketball history.
I hope the Warriors go for 73+ wins, even if they have to put Curry in and have him get less rest.
There’s a champion every year by design. The Warriors are already champs, no one will ever take that way from them. But how many of us care about champs more than 10 years old that’s not of our favorite team? There are some completely forgettable champs. But 73 wins is immortal. They should risk everything to get those wins and assume they’ll win the championship. If its a question between rest and winning a game, I’d say for the win because that 73 wins will stand for a long time
Any close observers of Joe Johnson’s career here? There’s been talk of the Nets buying him out and the Cavs picking him up. He seems well respected by his peers, but I’ve never been really impressed with his game.
Not a close observer, but Johnson had a real nice run with Atlanta in the mid 2000’s. This is 4th season in Brooklyn and he appears to have hit the wall. Games in which he scores 20+ are very few and very far between. I do like Joe Johnson, but he’s not what the Cavs need right now. He doesn’t, and never really did, fill up the stat sheet. If his shot’s not falling, he’s not doing you much good in other areas of the game. That said, he’s exactly the kind of the guy the Cavs would go get.
Hearing the same king of noise about Kevin Martin being bought out, too. He’s the not as good version of Joe Johnson. Does nothing but score and has not been doing much of that this year.
I’m also hearing the Clippers are interested in trading Blake Griffin and Lance Stephenson to Denver for Faried, Galinari, Barton and Jokic. My goodness what a terrible trade that would be for the Nuggets.
I heard on this morning’s local radio station that Doc wants to see how far this group will take the Clippers in the playoffs. If its another first or second round exit, then they’ll probably trade Griffin and/or blow up the team. But if we can finally get to the conference finals, then we’re keeping the core together.
Joe Johnson is a 34 year old on his 15th season, can’t really expect him to be a different maker at this point.
Holy shit, Portland over Golden State by 32 points! Great game. Lilliard played like a man possessed, scoring 51 points, nearly a franchise record. I really had my doubts about this rebuilt team making it anywhere near the playoffs, but they have really gelled.
Just bumping the thread to note that the Golden State Warriors are still pretty good.
They’re absurd :D. Great time to be living in the Bay Area, I tell you what.
That ending was just ridiculous.
