I don’t always hoist the Jolly Roger. I try to be good and watch my shows on their native websites, even if that leaves me a month behind with White Collar, but for the past few weeks shows on NBC.com and USAnetwork.com have had audio and video that are out of synch by a second and a half. Sure, I can and do go watch them on Hulu, but it’s odd that I have to, especially since all three are owned by NBC Universal and presumably use the same technology. Was gibts? Do others have this problem?
My setup: Kickass (for a business system in 2007) HP laptop. XP Pro, SP3, of course. Doesn’t matter which browser I try. Flash up to date. Wireless connection to a Comcast cable modem that I cannot afford to use but cannot afford to not use. (You know how that goes.)
Thanks. I don’t know why NBC Universal would pick on me like this, what with me being the center of the universe, as proven by science. They’re just asking for it.
Try loading it in another browser. Maybe try resinstalling Flash. And right click on the video and choose settings, and make sure hardware acceleration is on. (Heck, if it is on, try toggling it off–it is faster on some configurations.)
In other words, treat it like a problem on your end and do the normal stuff you’d do to try and fix that.
Could be they “upgraded” their site and now your system which used to be perfectly able to play things can’t play them quite right anymore. Happened to me with youtube on one computer.
