To be fair, Bud has been grey since, like, season 3 of JAG. But that What Happened To The Mouse tease about Harm and Mac was straight trolling.
He’s my least favorite character.
Weatherly always underplays his roles. He doesn’t get in the way of the rest of the cast being more active and emotional, so sometimes is a bit ‘blah’. The Bull character doesn’t seem to offer a way for him to own the character – the character in epi. i didn’t have much personality at all. Maybe they will figure out a way to demonstrate some true emotional depth for him, but I doubt it, since the character is supposed to be, and is, using technology and science to give defendants an edge in the courtroom, regardless of their guilt or innocence.
that said, I hope they avoid the cliched epis where one team member or another is in distress of some kind, instead of focusing on the premise of using the technology to, perhaps, solve crimes before a jury renders the wrong verdict.
I think Weatherly is totally capable of supporting a show on his own – given the right show. I haven’t watched *Bull *and have no intention to, but it’s because of the subject matter; not the star. Nothing about it sounds appealing, and I’m not suprised by the negative reactions here. I wish the networks had done something better with/for him.
When Ducky said he’d been revisiting old parts of his life so that he could write about thigns before he forgets I did wonder if that was the first brick down the path of an Alzheimer’s story line down the road this season.
Ok, I’ll play devil’s advocate. Tony was an insufferable ass and a harassing misogynist. As an employee, he should have been fired years ago. Good riddance.
Oh, I hope not, though the groundwork is present, since Ducky’s mother had dementia. But they did a moving dementia episode with Bob Newhart, and so they don’t need to do it with Ducky. I prefer to think of the “before I forget” as being the normal jokes about memory most older people make.
He was, in the early years, and many times I wanted to slap him silly. But he has matured over the years.
But definitely, yes, Will Riker syndrome. He should have gone off to lead his own team, not on a wild goose chase to find Ziva, new daughter in tow.
I stopped watching when Ziva left.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
I like Ellie, and enjoyed the seasons she was in up until Tony left. She makes for some more lighthearted episodes, like the one where she was stuck at the airport with Tony and her husband during a snowstorm. I don’t think episodes like that would have been possible with Ziva.
Now with Tony gone, the show just isn’t the same. I think that it’s time Gibbs hangs it up. Instead is spin offs with the current cast, I think a prequel would be fun to watch. A series set in the 1980s when Gibbs was a probie on Mike Franks’ team would be interesting. I’d watch a show like that.
Probably won’t be noticeable for a while, but Gary Glasberg’s death will change everything. Maybe they will wrap it up after this season.
if Weatherly’s new show fails, i’m holding out for a new season of Dark Angel. Not sure if they can aford Jessica Alba tho… But I’m sure Jensen Ackles would be up for it if Supernatural would EVER END!
Gibbs smiled several times in this week’s episode. Not natural.
I had completely forgotten that he played Alec! :smack:
For those who never saw David McCallum as Ilya Kuryakin. My teenage heartthrob.
Did you know he played Harold Bride (the junior wireless operator on the Titanic) in A Night to Remember (1958)?
