Who do you think won’t be back when the new season starts?
NCIS- I’m betting on Dr. Ryan and/or Jimmy’s bride-to-be.
NCIS LA- Kensi Blye
I don’t expect Dr. Ryan back, mostly because I can’t see Jamie Lee committing to a regular series. However, I expect Ducky to leave; they’ve been telegraphing it with his making Gibbs his executor, etc. And frankly, as much as I love David McCallum, the man is almost 80 and I imagine he’s tired.
McCallum just signed a multiyear renewal of his contract. I did some googling when the executor episode aired.
That’s a pleasant surprise! I’m stumped then, but the DVR is set. 
With all the season finale deaths going on, maybe we should have had a television character death pool. 
Is it weird that I find the idea more disturbing than I do the celebrity death pool?
If someone has to die on NCIS, I vote for Vance. Although I’d be a little disappointed because I’d like to know more about his backstory–it seems like they’ve hinted at secrets not made clear. (Although they could have cleared things up I promptly forgot them). Jimmy’s fiance is an ok choice, although it’s nice having one happy person on the show.
I have mixed feelings about Dr. Ryan–I like her, but I’m not sold on her character as a longterm love interest for Gibbs–she’s got too many secrets, and she’s sneaky. I also don’t want her to be a bad guy.
And on NCISLA–I don’t want Kenzi dead, but I can’t think of anyone else I want dead either–Deeks gets on my nerves sometimes, but he’s like a puppy. And I’m a little concerned about what sort of person would be hired to replace either one of them in the long term.
I don’t know the character’s names but on NCISLA, the guy who stays behind with the girl with the short hair at mission control. Or, if they want to be extra mean, the girl with the short hair. But not Kensi or Deeks or LL. Smirky O’Donnell can get railgunned by the Romanians for all I care.
Eric and Nell. I agree that they are the most expendable. Unless they bring Nate back just to kill him off.
If either Deeks or Kensi die, I think I am done watching the show.
I HATE Dr. Ryan. She needs to die. The “banter” between her and Gibbs makes me GAG. She is smirky, sneaky (as someone said), and totally full of herself.

If I hadn’t just read on here that David McCallum signed a new contract, I’d be upset.
Unless he and the network just put that out so that we wouldn’t suspect the truth, and he is not really coming back.

I like Jaime Lee Curtis as an actress, but damn, Dr Ryan is a smarmy conniving bitch. That character can just go the hell away as far as I am concerned. I am thrilled to hear that Ducky is staying! He and Abbie are my 2 absolute favorite characters on the show.
Though with that bomb going off, it does make me wonder who died. Ziva and Tony were in the elevator, Abbie and McGee were in the lab [or was that Gibbs? I was looking away when I heard the blast, and mrAru is watching something and would get grumpy if I tried replaying NCIS] so that rather leaves whomever were near the car still when it exploded. I think 
As to NCIS LA, I never got into that show, so I have no real comment on that one. The problem is I know the real NCIS from back when they were still NIS and in the little building by the middle gate into lower base …

[spoiler]I thought McGee was in the bullpen, Gibbs and Abby were in the lab, and Tony and Ziva were in the elevator. McGee really went flying.
I think they will all probably be back, but Michael Weatherly, Sean Murray, and Pauley Perrette don’t have contracts yet AFAIK. This is why I’ll probably also spend much of Criminal Minds tomorrow freaking about about Matthew Gray Gubler.[/spoiler]
As I said, I was looking away from the TV at that moment, so the specific people who were in the lab was not actually known by me, and I was not able to go back and replay my DVR [still not yet]
I am thrilled that Ducky will definitely be back! Though he did specify dead bodies when he got called on the beach. I am hoping that the dead bodies in question will mostly be NPCs and we get all the cast except for Dr Ryan back. Or at least she will drop back to an only occasional guest spot.
I need to surf around and find the DVDs for post season 6 [I have the 1-6 season boxed set already.]
NCIS is always, always about misdirection. The one cast member not seen to be in danger is Jimmy. Therefore, he’s toast.
Plus, about to be married. That’s almost as bad as “two weeks until retirement”.

NCIS:LA continues to be about the worst excuse - bring back 2 barely known chars to kill them off - there was zero suspense in the episode and you resolve the last scene simply by pushing chameleon back into the van and taking him elsewhere.
