NCIS/NCISLA season finales-Dying Day

I predict that when NCIS returns we will have brand new sets for the squadroom and Abby’s Lab.

Yeah, the NCISLA Day of Death was just like any other day, there was nothing special about it. Except for the fact that the No Lip Wonder may rot in jail-- like that’ll happen.

Does Miguel Ferrer ever play someone pleasant?

I thought Jimmy would get dead from the start of the episode. When they showed Dr. Mallard having a heart attack, I thought ‘Wait a minute… Jimmy’s the one who is supposed to die.’ I noted that Ducky’s eyes were open, as were my mom’s husband when he died.

I’m hoping I’m (we’re) right about Jimmy, and that Dr. Mallard will be saved. I never got into the Jimmy character.

Yes, he was a decent guy in Crossing Jordan.

I like Jimmy well enough, he is pretty feckless but not objectionable.

Ducky was actively on the phone with someone. If I was talking to someone and they made hurky sounds and went silent, I would call someone at the hotel I knew he was at - or Jimmy, since it is known they are staying at the same hotel for the wedding. Ducky will survive because someone is able to call EMS for him. Abby and Gibbs will survive because the show will pretty much shut down without Gibbs, and Abby is also amazingly popular. McGee could die and Sean go into the behind the camera end fairly easily. Not sure but I think that we could also replace DiNozzo and Ziva with reasonable care - they are popular, but nowhere as popular as Abby and Ducky.

Well, that ending just shocked me, and was the most riviting NCIS ep. this season. Very little has been written for McGee this year, so that’s a bad sign for him. But I like him, so I hope he survives and gets better storylines next year. I trust the Gibbs magic saved Abby. The elevator should have given Ziva and Tony more protection, so they should be okay. Agree with everyone on the horribleness of Ryan, and her son seemed like a jerk, too. Any chance that she was the female in videotape that got the bad guy’s son reassigned? Would give the bad guy extra motive to take her down.

I’m guessing that Vance is gone, Gibbs, Abby, Tony, Ziva, & McGee all live (but McGee is the most likely to have gone - and was in the least sheltered place). I expect Ducky to come back with either a shortened season or a different role (maybe moving to being just a profiler or only available on certain cases) and Jimmy to be the main coroner moving forward. I’m also guessing Jaime Lee Curtis is gone, too, but I don’t want to see Gibbs mourn for her for the first half of next season.

I liked Jimmy’s sentiment about changing the time of the wedding, but that strained my ability to suspend disbelief. If the wedding was scheduled, that’s the time that people are planning on attending, the officiant will be there, the building is open, etc. You can’t just change the time. Cancel the honeymoon, sure, but just move the wedding? Not so much.

He wasn’t going to ‘move’ the wedding itself - that would have been canceled - he was just going to get married (presumably by the preist) in short order and head back .

Why Ducky was on the beach - I assume headed to the wedding party itself, not privvy to the change in plans that was just made, and the wedding party itself will come to his aid - its also not likely a heart attack but a severe stress reaction to the news.

I think Hetty should replace Vance and they should just disband the LA team.

From their season ender it looks like they are halfway there.

You leave my LA team alone, you Jethrodizers!

Oh, good thought on Ducky’s role possibly changing to something less strenuous.
I’m still not sure that Ryan wasn’t in cahoots with Deering. Gibbs didn’t trust her. He, who can read everyone, couldn’t get a read on her. At any rate, I don’t think he’d mope over her for half a year. Not with so many NCIS personnel to grieve over, and avenge.

McGee took a very bad hit. He was late getting out because he was backing up the files, like a good tech nerd.

Agree with you on the sentimentality of Jimmy’s sentiment, how unlikely and even silly to disrupt the bride’s entire family and reception plans, and the finances of it all for the sake of getting back to Washington a few hours sooner. But then again, very feckless Jimmy-like.

No, good tech nerds do constant backups offsite. Having to throw stuff on a thumb drive during a crisis is what an idiot would do.
