Don’t leave the decorated Halloween pumpkin on the top shelf of the china cabinet in the dining room where you rarely go. It is difficult to get 5 month old liquified pumpkin gunk off the shelf (luckily the shelf itself was removeable).
If you have tree branches overhanging your roof and no cap on your chimney, squirrels will get into the chimney, and won’t be able to get out.
You never lived in sonoma county did you? My husband has a story EXACTLY like that. He says the carcass was mummified when they found it months later. I guess they never noticed the smell because they were, well, guys.
Not my own story, but happened to a friend of a friend.
Cats are weak and lack opposable thumbs. They can get into almost anything, but not into an oven. It makes a dandy place to store all of the cat food, including the canned stuff.
DO NOT forget that it’s in there before preheating the oven when making cookies.
Do not clean out the fridge just before going on vacation. Not if the cleaned-out stuff will be sitting in the garbage. Especially not if the garbage can is in the garage. And most EMPHATICALLY not if it’s July  :smack:
Children need to inform adults IMMEDIATELY if a toilet won’t flush. They should not re-use the toilet until an adult has dealt with it. Especially if that toilet is in the basement, where the adults rarely venture.
