Need a Catchy Phrase for College Graduation Announcement

Hallgirl1 is graduating from college and has asked me to come up with an announcement. This will go to family and friends to announce her graduation (this is not an invitation). She’s graduating with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with a focus in History to teach Secondary Education (high school History). We need something catchy to announce this.

Any takers?

formal announcements always seem cliche to me.
But this idea just occurred to me:

On the outside cover : “hallgirl takes on the world!!”
in a font like a newpaper headline, with a photo of her wearing her graduation gown, or holding her diploma.

Inside the card: “after 4 years, 8 semesters, 25 research papers, 35 professors, 125 credit hours, and 235 exams, hallgirl has reached a milestone on the road. We celebrated her graduation on Jan 7, 2007 , and hope you join us in wishing her success”

(on second thought --oops—too corny. sorry for wasting your time)

You could do “great moments in history” with of course the graduation as the latest. A friend did this with another friend’s 50th birthday and if you pick fun relevant-to-her past events it’s cute.

No, no, I like this. It’s different, catchy and isn’t the standard “Class of 2007, blah, blah, blah”.

The best graduation card I ever saw (and I bought it for our beloved dorm mother) has a picture of a dejected looking kid, wearing cap and gown, sitting on the steps of some neoclassical academic type building. At the bottom it reads “They had to get rid of you.” On the inside: “You knew too much.”

Having seen a lot of such standard announcements, I recommend the inclusion of humour.

My father used “Out of the frying pan and into the fire.” as his highschool graduation announcement.
