A great uncle ( a gifted artisan in etching brass and stone and a great woodworker. Additionally, a fine engineer and a wizard with the six simple machines) passed away. His daughter is cleaning out his house. We know the fifty plus year old Lionel trains (still in their original boxes) are worth money but we don’t know how much. As a sometime dealer in antiques and collectible toys, I fear she’ll be ripped off. Conversely, we don’t want to lose a sale by setting prices unrealistically high.
I’ve recommended a trip to Barnes & Noble to look at the printed price guides. But, does anybody know a good online guide?
