These were taken the night before last, after his surgery (please forgive me if the link doesn’t work, I know NOTHING about uploading things to imgur)
We thought the neck wound was a recent wound, until at the vet’s office he was shaved. I can’t get a picture to do it justice. It’s (squeamish warning) like there was just a huge flap of skin where his throat had been ripped by a larger dog, the flap being probably about 3x4 in. Also, after shaving, that was when we found that part of the flesh was already decaying, so that’s where the debridement came in (end squeamish warning).
He has hookworms, whipworms, heartworms, and microfilaria. I don’t really have much/any experience with these, but I’ve been medicating him as instructed. He should be fine, he’s not in danger of dying anymore, so that’s why I wanted to see if anything could be done for his skin, since he’s being treated for everything else.
He goes to the vet tomorrow to have his drainage tube removed, so hopefully I will find out more.
Also, he actually crawled up in my lap yesterday and even gave me kisses!
