My Beloved will be deciding soon as to which path to take breast surgery-wise. Her doctor advises that she take anti-estrogen medication, and she also found online what purports to be an anti-estrogen diet designed by Ori Hofmekler. I’m not finding much independent information on the dude or his diet, and I was wondering if any of you know anything about either.
I’ve only heard a little of that diet, and after looking again at one of the web sites it is my unprofessional opinion that he sounds like a quack.
From www.antiestrogenicdiet.com
There are supportive quotes from a psychiatrist and a botanical expert. According to the site using this diet will help you if you have trouble losing belly fat, low libido, fatigue, and “diminished ability to resist stress” which is what every diet claims.
I’m probably biased though; I just assume that the medication recommended by your doctor has been approved by the FDA (which is just a lackey for Big Pharma, of course) while the Anti-Estrogenic Diet was though up by an artist.
Plus taking the medicine would make it easier to keep track than trying to stick with a new diet.
The amount of estrogen and estrogen-like chemicals you obtain from your diet is negligible compared to your endogenous estrogen production.
The guy is a quack. Take the tamoxifen and best of luck.
The only thing she may want to avoid are soy products, as I’ve seen some articles that soy may mimic estrogen in the body. I don’t thing there is any scientific evidence of a diet that combats estrogen.
