My friend recently got out of the Air Force and would like to display her uniform in her home. She’s a bit unsure of how to go about doing this.
Awhile ago while at a ceremony she had seen one displayed on a wall, looking nicely starched with the hat hanging on the hanger hook to hide it the hanger from view. She doesn’t want to put it in a case.
She said the one she saw was very stiff looking and was very clean. She wants to do something that could preserve the stiffness and perhaps keep it from turning yellow from dust.
Any suggestions?
How about a mannequin or dress maker’s dummy? She could dry clean the uniform periodically, when cleaning was required.
I’ve seen some sports jerseys hung on a wall in a plexiglass case. Most of them were folded flat and squished, but I have seen a few of them that weren’t.
Also, I remember a sports bar where they had jerseys hung on a crossbar from the ceiling, so the jersey draped like a banner.
I wouldn’t bring indignity to a uniform to the level of a simple ol’ sports jersey, but the mechanics of hanging them may be similar.
Tripler
Just my two cents.
