About 10 years ago (mid 90’s, more or less) there was a book published that was essentially an alien guide to earth, post-human.
Yes, fictional.
Specifically, the premise was that there were no people left, and a long time after the last person died, aliens discovered the earth. Their archaeologists then wrote a book describing what they found and explaining it all via the evidence.
For instance, homes all had toilets, therefore they must have been religious altars. That sort of thing.
Anyone ever hear of this book and know the title? I can’t remember it and can’t quite figure out the right search terms to help me find it online.
:smack:
I was so excited to read the responses to this–I have been looking for this book myself for years and could not remember the name. I’ve posted requests on several book-finding message boards, but have not found the answer until I read this! You guys rock!
It’s not really a book that you want to read - it’s more a big picture book. It’s a great bathroom book, for example.
Definitely not the book you want on the Kindle. It’s got a lot of pretty detailed pictures, and as good as the Kindle is, I don’t think it would do it justice.
