Need help finding an exact quote

I read a quote a few days ago which was something like “We need reminding more than instruction.” I think the author was British and it was said in the 1700s. I can’t retrace my steps and find the exact quote where I read it. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

“We need reminding more often than we need to learn something new.”

That what you’re after?

A Google search on “reminding more than instruction” points to a pdf which ascribes the saying to C.S. Lewis. ‘As CS.Lewis noted, “People need reminding more than instruction.”’ I don’t know how correct that might be.
