Izzybella is working on graduate classes and needs to interview teachers in either public or private school. None of her contacts have not returned phone calls and the assignment is due by midnight Central time US.
If you can help, she has the following questions regarding which national, state, and local goals and objectives influence your curriculum.
Which impacts you the most and why?
Which impacts you the least and why?
Do you have specific examples?
If you want to send your address to her, she’ll send chocolate as a gesture of gratitude.
State testing goals influence our curriculum the most. The API/AYI are the key figures that schools live and die by. These days, everything must bow to state testing.
Which impacts you the least and why?
National goals influence us the least. We hit our AYI under the No Child Left Behind Act easily, so that is kindof a no brainer. Local desires count for more, as to course offerings, etc.
Any specific questions can be asked by contacting me. My email is in my profile. Ask around…I give good interview.
I don’t know what you mean by “goals.” If you mean funding, it’s about 80% state and 20% Federal–to get that we have to abide by the No Child Left Behind Act, which means just more standardized testing, which eats up of lot of teaching time. If you really mean “goals,” they’re mostly local, because the school serves the local community. Can the OP be more specific?
Izzybella checking in. Thanks much silenus and guizot. Your input was much appreciated. If either of you would like me to send chocolate your way (in gratitude) I would be happy too. Just shoot an email with your address to betsyelz@netscape.com. Thanks again!
