A boss that my sales exec and I need to…well I’ll be honest…suck up to wants a specific style of hawaiian shirt. He wants a black background with a print of blue roses. He wears a size large. I’ve done some looking and rose prints seem nearly non-existant. Can anyone help?
Yeah, tropical flowers are the type which you will usually find on Hawaiian (they are called Aloha shirts in Hawaii) shirts. I don’t think I have ever seen one with roses.
If you are looking online for this, try “aloha shirt” instead of “Hawaiian shirt”.
The shirts tend to stick with tropical/island stuff, like ginger, bird of paradise, plumeria, hibiscus, outrigger canoes, surfboards, turtles, and palm trees. I can’t say I’ve ever seen an aloha shirt with roses on it. Not for men anyway.
I’ve pretty much come to that same conclusion. (I’ve searched it both ways, aloha and hawaiian)
Maybe we could get one custom made.
Sorry, I gotta call Bullshit. You are just trying to bribe Silenus
Here you go - http://www.hilohattie.com/acb/stores/3/New-Arrivals-C408.aspx
The page only takes about 9 hours to load, then you can see Hawaii’s finest selection of Aloha shirts.
I don’t know of any specific manufactures who would have blue roses on a black background, but you could also look up print camp shirts.
Check out www.hotshirts.com (Paradise On A Hanger). If anyone would have something like that, they would.
Rick: to simplify the bribery, I’ve decided on a “One additional number for every beer bought for silenus or Dee at the Dopefest” policy.
The bribing is a totally seperate item.
The long-sleeved shirts at hotshirts.com are an abomination unto Og. Please tell me no one actually wears them.
I was going to suggest this but wasn’t sure if you had the time. I think you will have far better luck finding the material you want and then having it made into a shirt.
It isn’t really a factor of time. The main problem is the only place I’ve seen that will do one custom aloha shirt wants $95. We’re not sure we want to suck up that much.
This isn’t right, but it is roses:
Jams World is a pricey brand but the fabric is luscious AND machine-washable.
Also this, which is again, not right…but on the right track:
If you don’t think he can tell the difference between a peony and a rose…
If you don’t care about the flower at all but just want black with blue flowers:
Are any of those close-ish?
Does it have to be new? I can keep an eye open in the thrift stores, if you like.
So have you arranged a designated driver yet? I wants me that bottle you are bringing, and I will buy as many beers as necessary to win it.
