Husband and I got in a conversation about this last night after watching 80’s cartoon openings on YouTube. We both remember it, it’s seriously on the tip of my tongue but I can’t quite recall what it was called or how the song went:
ABC, afternoon, flying into books or books flapping and flying around - a different book each week, maybe? There was a library in front of you and then you flew into it and into a book. Seems to me it was some kind of after school special dealy, but searching YouTube for “ABC after school special” doesn’t bring up what we’re thinking of. “ABC flying books” also yields zip. Mr. Bunny thinks after the cartoon credits, sometimes the show was an actual cartoon and sometimes it wasn’t.
That sounds like it, but the only opening I can find for that show on YouTube isn’t the one I’m thinking of (though it’s definitely very familiar). Did they have more than one opening sequence, because that seriously sounds like what we’re thinking of?
I think we were getting several shows confused. Husband watched the opening from ABC Weekend Special last night and is confident that’s the one he was thinking of. Thanks, though!
Is this what you’re remembering? Because based on your description, that sounds about right. But when I first read the OP, I immediately thought of the ABC Weekend Special which is what I remember watching occassionally.
