Hi. I’ve tried Google and get these weird sites with strange instructions I can’t quite follow. I am trying to open an xfd file on a Mac and have no idea how. It’s a one-time thing, so if any kind soul would allow me to email it to them so they could convert it to a pdf, I’d be most appreciative. That is, if I can’t open it on my mac and save y’all the trouble.
PS - if someone can help I’d be happy to thank them by emailing them a guest pass to the Magic Castle in Hollywood. Private club, can’t get in without a pass. (There’s a cover/dinner charge to get in, but without the pass you can’t get in at all.)
No clue. From what I understand (the little useful info I got from Google) it’s a way to send legal documents and ensure there’s no tampering with them.
In this case, it’s an insurance certificate for an event a non-profit I work with is hosting. I’d get the insurance broker to fax it over, but the guy is a jackass and it took me 2 weeks to even get this sent over, and our deadline is tomorrow.
Did you try Adobe Reader for Mac? I wouldn’t normally recommend installing this, what with Mac OSX native PDF support and all, but it should be able to read XFD files.
OK, so got it to work. Stumbled across an online tech support place (justanswer.com) and they had a tech figure it out. Actually took quite a while, they were stumped for a bit. Ended up that the file was an IBM business form file that requires a specific IBM business form reader. Once they figured that out I downloaded their reader and all was well.
