Hopefully one of the teeming millions has a 1982 Oldsmobile Delta 88 or something close to that.
I’m working on one for a friend. The belt alignment was all messed up and I determined yesterday that it had the wrong alternator in it. I got AutoZone to swap out the alternator, but I can’t make the adjustment bracket work properly. It doesn’t line up. I’m not sure if it has the wrong bracket or what.
If anyone has access to an early 80s Olds with a 307 CID engine with air conditioning…could you PLEASE get under the hood and take some pictures of the alternator and belt routing for me. A tape measure in the picture would help so I can get a better idea of what’s wrong or missing.
It seems that everything that’s supposed to be there is there, but I’m not really sure. The previous owner of the car might have made modifications that aren’t obvious. I normally only work on Chryslers, so this GM has me stumped.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
