The show I’m thinking of was during the late 70’s or early 80’s(I think, that’s how I remember it anyway). One of the main characters (the main character?) was a man who had some sort of distrust of “establishment” and hadn’t paid taxes in some number of years. He had done something(faked his death or some such) that the government considered him to not exist officially. He had a small dog named Miles, after Miles Davis the jazz musician.
I thought George Carlin played this character, in my head it was him, but I’m not finding anything that confirms it either on imdb or wikipedia.
Anyone have any ideas?
