What would be the best old norse translation for “If you can read this, you’re over-educated”?
Here’s my attempted. There’s probably at least one mistake in there. For one thing, I can’t remember if the participles are supposed to be declined as in Latin.
Ef þú getr lesinn þetta, þú ert of lærðr.
Get rid of her and hire a young norse. You’ll never regret it.
Icelandic is pretty damn close and there are quite a few sites that will translate English>Icelandic.
