Need help with remote keyboard puncher thingy

My brothers and I want to build a sit-down game cabinet for our gameroom. It will have HOTAS and rudder pedals but it still needs some functions that are controlled by a keystroke. Things like dropping bombs, launching missiles, etc.

We want to have a keyboard hidden in the cabinet and use push buttons mounted on the “instrument panel” to actuate the keys. We’re trying to figure out a way to get this done.

The basic idea we have is to get some kind of small plunger to hit each specific key. I have a small lathe and mill that I can use to help with fabricating a bracket to hold all this crap together. We just need help on the crap itself;) How do we get a remote push button to hit a key?

Thanks. Lee, Bill, and Andrew.
