Need hooks that glue to bathroom tile...

…or glue that will hold the damn hooks.

I glued a couple of hooks to my shower tiles to hold my scrub brush and a bath sponge, but the hooks fell off a few weeks later. (I followed the directions of a 24 hour wait before using the shower.)

Can you suggest hooks and glue that will hold?

Contact cement? You could just use a masonry bit on low speed and drill through it, then set an anchor and mount your hooks. I’ve done it many times. Unless it’s glass tiles, of course.

Is the entire shower tiled? It might be easier just to put a hook in the drywall above the tile.

I’ve never found glue to hold anything on a wall.

On the other hand, suction cups might be your answer. We have several suction cup, er… thingies attached to our tile. They almost never fall off and if they do (unlike glued-on hooks that never work again) you can just re-attach them.

Check someplace like Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They should have a wide assortment.

Gorilla glue. Your welcome.

My dad uses the sort of glue that you use on fish tanks to glue on the little bar soap holder in his bathroom. Granted, it’s not inside a shower but it’s glued to tile in a wet place.

I like the suction cups. But since I posted the OP, I now have a plumber coming over to fix a leaky kitchen faucet. Maybe I’ll have him deal with it.

Thank you all.

We’ve had the 3M Command adhesive utility hooks on our shower tile for a good five years now without a failure.
