Praying for Trump won’t work. It’s like praying for a new car. You know God won’t give you one. It’s easier to steal the car you want and ask to be forgiven by God later.
He’s already getting a reacharound from Jesus. What more does he need?
That’s more than Putin gives him.
What are you trying to accomplish with a snarky comeback? Do you expect to rock them back on their heels and make them think they were wrong? You’re going to have the opposite effect – the more snark, the more defensiveness, the more digging in.
I frankly agree with one part of that link, that there is no point in “bashing” Trump, when by “bashing” you are criticizing him personally instead of his actions and policies. You may never get through to them, but in my opinion a consistent approach of calm, measured and fact-based responses beats snark by a mile. Or do nothing at all.
Snark is more entertaining.
I was more interested in the ad right under the meme, saying “date attractive women from Poland”
I am married, really not looking, but went the site to see what the ick factor would be. It said you could chat, send letters and send presents. Cool, it is about time people I don’t know start sending me presents.
“We have lots of enemies FOREIGN and DOMESTIC.”
“Yep, and one of those domestic enemies is Donald Trump.”
You could just nod sagely and piously state, “May God have mercy on his soul.”
Then you should join the secret Santa gift exchange here at the sdmb later this year.
Why send Donald Trump prayers? What he needs are thoughts.
Hey, Putin gave him peeing hookers. Can’t ask for more than that.
“God knows what Trump is doing.” Truer words were never spoken.
As long as he isn’t replaced by Pence!
I like this a lot. Simple, fitting, and it can’t possibly be offensive unless they’re raging and possibly racist hypocrites. (Which doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be prepared for them to be.)
“Do not wear* hair* woven of two kinds of material.”
Oh, this is perfect, and I plan to steal this.
Edit: It’s a bumper sticker!
“I always pray for the lost to return to God.”
- “Thoughts and prayers.”
B. “May a kind and just God grant the President all the happiness and joy he truly deserves.”
III. “May God bless and keep the President… from doing any more harm.”
Of course this “I’m praying for President _____: Psalms 109:8” meme was actually popularized by right-wing evangelicals with respect to President Obama: See this 2009 article from the Christian Science Monitor and this Snopes page about a 2016 incident involving Georgia Senator David Perdue. (It would therefore really only be a fair turn-about to apply it to President Trump.)
This. Or “Forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do” (or whatever the line is).
