Need some advice - shoulder surgery upcoming

Hello,

I have my first surgery in 8 days and im nervous. The following will be done:

-diagnostic arthoscopy of the right shoulder
-subacromial decompression
-distal clavicle resection
-arthoscopic debrindement of the glenohumeral joint
-evaluation of the rotator cuff and labrum w/possible repairs
-possible microfracture and all other indicated procedures.

The surgeon prescribed norco 10/325 up to 2 per 4 hours for the post of pain after the nerve block wears off. I am a 220 lb male.

I have an ice machine which i plan to use at home the first 48 hours

Should i ask for percocet instead of narco? I am afraid that the pain meds will be too weak for me and i will be in major pain after the block wears off.

Surgeons are pretty good about knowing what will work best for the pain. Trust what he suggests.

But also have someone available to go get a written prescription from the doctor should what he gives you not work.
