Need TAB for Stairway to Heaven

Not the original, sheesh. I want the one off “Pickin on Zepplin: A Tribute”

It’s wonderful, particularly the finger pickin’ guitar at the beginning. My ear is simply not good enough to pick  out what he’s playing.

A little help here. Somebody?

I don’t mean this the way it may read, but isn’t this a simple thing to Google?

“Pickin’ On Zeppelin” is a compilation of Bluegrass versions of Led Zeppelin songs. The OP is asking for that particular version of “Stairway,” not Zep’s original version. I haven’t been able to to find the “Pickin” version online. If I heard it, I could probably figure it out, though.

God, I’m an idiot. I’m very sorry, NoCoolUserName. Maybe this response will put it in front of someone who can help.

I’ll see if I can put it somewhere you can get to it. Later today probably.

Here you go.

Wow. There’s a lot there. I can’t give you the banjo or the fiddle parts and there are several guitar parts. What exact parts are you looking for. I can tell you that the gutars more or less follow the original chords, just picked a little differently with a few embellishments here and there. This would be a lot of work to work out and transcribe. It would probably make things easier if you could tell me what parts you’re having trouble with.

I’d play the melody as a single line then see where those notes are in the chords. No one’s going to tab this out.

I was looking for the intro guitar part, up to where the fiddle comes in. I wasn’t expecting anyone to transcribe it, of course, just hoping that someone already had. My ear is so bad that I have trouble transcribing anything, dang it.

Maybe I can get Paula–of the golden ear–to pick it out on piano, then I can TAB it. Don’t spend a bunch of time on it unless you’re personally interested.

The intro uses the same chords as the original it just throws in a few more leading notes.
I shouldn’t have volunteered for this. It involves more work than I really want to invest. I really think you can work it out yourself, though. The melody line is pretty simple in the verses. The walking line in the second part of the intro goes like this (played over the same chords as he original).

Hope that helps a little at least.

Crap. That first open D in the second measure should be an F. Change that 0 to a 3.
