The tires I need are Size 265/70R17 for my 2003 GMC Yukon Denali. In looking various sites like Pep Boys, Walmart, and the local tire centers I am overwhelmed with choices. The least expensive tires at Pep Boys are in the $ 130 + range each are no name brands I am not familiar with. Michelin, Pirelli etc. seem to start at the lower 200 dollar each range and go up from there.
I do not bust trails or speed. Just looking for good road tires that can handle snow an slush if called on and give decent ride.
Any recommendations on brands or specific tires, or the best place to get a deal? I’m on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Perhaps try Cooper tires. Sorry no links but they work well for me on my Pathfinder. But I do drive in snow all the time and a lot of highway miles. They are a bit more of a mid-range tire I think.
I have always had good luck with the GoodYear Wrangler series of tires on the SUVs I have owned. Something like the Wrangler ST would be a good all weather tire that would fit your Yukon.
Just resign yourself now to the fact that it will cost about $800+ to find good tires for that kind of vehicle. More if you do actually want to go off-road at some point.
Somewhere around where you live there may be places that sell “used” tires. Often, you can get tires there which are hardly used at all, taken from a totaled car. Great prices.
