Needs movie version fast

Over the last few years, Hollywood cocaine-dead imagination has made a movie version almost out of anything: tv shows, cartoons, books, etc.
What have they overlooked in your opinion? Anything goes.
IMHO they’ve overlooked:

  1. Tunnel in the sky by Robert Heimlem:

I loved this book. In the future a bunch of kids are stranded for years in a dessert planet. It’s robinson crusoe, the lord of the flies and survivor all mix together.
I think it has the potential to be a huge success.

  1. Robotech:

Transformers? G.I. Joe? Pfftt. This is one of the few cartoons that respected kids. After all it was one of the only one were people killed people, with bullets (or lasers).

  1. Future boy conan:

This one is more obscure but those that watched were rewarded with a great story.

I’m still waiting for the goddamn Rendezvous with Rama movie.

There’s already an entry on imdb for Robotech.

According to this story on tvsquad, the creators of Smallville are going to be writing for the movie and Tobey MacGuire is producing/starring in it.
