Is anyone else from the UK going to see Neil Young in London at the weekend?
As I understand it he’s doing an acoustic set from his new album ‘Greendale’.
Now, this may or may not mean anything to those in the US, but over here Greendale is the setting for a legendary afternoon TV cartoon character called Postman Pat (and his black and white cat).
I wonder if Neil knows? Perhaps he’ll play the theme to amuse us!
I read that Lynerd Skynerd (sp?) actually liked and admired Neil Young, and vice versa. Dunno for sure. Probably only they and Neil ever knew the truth.
Anyway, I certainly do enjoy a lot of his music and appreciate the new directions he often takes. Thanks for mentioning Greendale, did not yet know about it. Hope to see Neil Young at Red Rocks (again!) this year.
“Now Ronnie and Neil became good friends, their fued was just in song
Skynyrd was a bunch of Neil Young fans and Neil he loved that song
So he wrote ‘Powderfinger’ for Skynyrd to record
But Ronnie ended up singing ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ to the Lord.”
